Bystock Lake with Daddy

After Alice and I went for a walk around Bystock Lake earlier in the week, Lucien was really wanting to go for a walk there too. So, we decided as we were up early this morning that we would take the opportunity to go then. This was the first time Lucien had been up there with Alice.

Alice was dressed up in her Minnie Mouse coat and Minnie Mouse LittleLife bag, and Lucien was the chosen one to walk with. Off we went with the optimistic thoughts that this time we would get further.

Alice found some pine cones next to a fence and thought it would be the best thing ever to post pine cones through the holes of the fence and retrieve them again.

Then we carried on until Alice couldn't walk any further and resulted in me carrying her back most of the way.

Bystock Lake is up for sale at the moment, we hope that whoever buys it keeps it open to the public because its one of our favourite places to go for a walk. We are making the most of it whilst we can, just in case.

Walking in the sun

I am absolutely loving the fact that we are now starting to get reasonably mild and sometimes sunny days. It's the perfect opportunity to go out with Alice for a walk and yesterday was one of those days. I wanted to go out somewhere different than the usual walk I do along the seafront and somewhere, where I knew Alice could have a little bit of freedom to walk around "by herself", with the safety of the LittleLife bag and rein.

I always enjoy walking around Bystock Lake and you have a choice of a small walk around the lake and back or you can carry on up further onto the common. With Alice we only managed to get around the lake and back, but it was still lovely.

Alice loved running across the bridge and back, then repeat etc.

The ducks and geese followed all the way round and back again.

Time for a sit down

As I was driving home, I noticed Alice had fallen asleep (she decided that morning, she wasn't going to nap) and thought why not go for another walk whilst she sleeps in the pushchair. I ended up going to Foxholes and walking to 'The Geoneedle' to admire the views across Exmouth, and over to Dawlish. It was a really lovely walk.

In hindsight, the next time I do this walk I will take the other pushchair I have, as it was a bit of a bumpy ride for Alice (not that she noticed), The Graco Evo pushchair may have given a slightly more comfortable ride across the gravel paths. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Joie stroller we have, its been brilliant, it's just the Graco has bigger wheels to cope better with the gravel.
